It's already here -  much faster Opera 12.01

So far the changes apply only to the test version published by Opera Labs. However, the developers probably will soon bring it to the final version.
HTTP is the protocol used in the network for more than 15 years, and because it is the basis of communication between the server and the browser - requires improvement or even replacement. The answer is right for SPDY, which first debuted in Chrome, Firefox later, and now goes to a test release of Opera.
Unlike HTTP, SPDY can download multiple resources within a single connection, furthermore it compresses the headers. These changes translate into accelerated to 38.67 percent. - As reported by the creator Opera. They also stress that this is only the beginning of the work. Google in its documents show that SPDY HTTP replacement can bring increased over 60 percent.
But there is a condition ... as always. To accelerate the need is not only the desire to developers of browsers, but web developers. Be the first to SPDY deployed creator - Google. As with Google Search and Gmail. Another large company that uses SPDY is Twitter. The new protocol servers supported include by Jetty, Apache and Nginx.
