Olympus announces their glasses AR

Just a week after the conference Google I / O Google presents Glass, a Japanese manufacturer of cameras, Olympus unveiled a prototype augmented reality glasses.
At the very catchy name MEG4.0 hide glasses with QVGA display with a resolution of 320 by 240, which connect to the smartphone via Bluetooth. Olympus says that because of their "own optical technology" area occupied by the display is completely obscured the outside world. The glasses also has a built-in accelerometer, allowing equipment to detect the position of the user's head and "respond accordingly." Built-in battery to provide up to 8 hours of operation in power saving mode in which the image is shown every three minutes and 15 seconds. It follows that if the image would be displayed permanently, would be visible for less than an hour. Feebly, but this is just a prototype.
Unlike Google Glass, glasses Olympus apparently not equipped with cameras, which surprised some in the company who has been producing digital cameras.
Unlike Google, the Japanese already have some experience in creating augmented reality glasses. Olympus is trying their hand in this field since 2005, while Brother for some time offers to corporate clients exorbitantly AiRScouter system. Given that Google still has not revealed any technical details about the Google Glass, MEG4.0 opportunities might not be as truncated as it seems at first glance.
